I spend most of my time shooting locally along the central Connecticut shoreline. This stretch of the Long Island Sound harbors an amazing variety
of avian species, but unofortunately they can be very difficult to approach. Both Least Terns and Piping Plovers are species threatened by human encroachment
on their CT beach habitat. Luckily, efforts have been put into place to protect these nesting species, which has led to increases in their numbers recently.
This year in particular was a good year for our local tern and plover colonies and I was fortunate to be able to carefully document some of theeir nesting activities.
I hope you the enjoy these images!
