Unlike those in Florida, Connecticut birds are quite skittish and can be very difficult to approach. I have been improving my skills
this winter in approaching our birds without disturbing them, and have been impressed with the results. A number of species of raptors live in Connecticut and I have had the
good fortune of observing and photographing a number of these often elusive birds this winter. Some of the images from these encounters are shown here along with
images from other birds I have photographed. The Snowy Owl and Kingfisher shots are particularly special to me given the elusive nature and impressive beauty of these birds. Enjoy!
